I've never been a fan of the Asian clubs/events and last night made me realize why. While I will most likely be avoiding those places for the next little while, I did ultimately have a good time (like J.Foxx say "blame it on the ah ah ah alcohol"!).
I went to the Docks last night for the Tiki Summer Series party with a bunch of my girls, and the moment I stepped in, I knew this was going to be like school all over again. I go to UTSC which is pretty much a bigger high school. People hang in groups and will merely speak to you unless you have sort of association with them. Everyone just keeps to themselves and people in their program. That pretty much also summed up the Docks last night.
Everybody knew each other and this in turn made it weird for us who knew nobody. it was like the crowd + us. Haha, no jokes.
Just didn't feel a crazy party vibe. It was more like a lounge/mingle vibe. We got looks when we yelled out lyrics and danced like maniacs.
The funniest thing is my friend who wasn't even Chinese knew more people than I did.

Props for the lameness that are Asian clubs. Every time I go I'm reminded of the profound lyric from PCD: "seven takes of the same old scene".
